What is the difference between an ‘Anti-virus’ software and an ‘Internet Security’ software?
I want to buy an new Anti-virus software for my computer but when searcher amazon, both ‘Anti-Virus’ and ‘Internet Security’ software keep showing up. I thought an Anti-virus is internet security?
If they are different, what would be the best one to have installed?
You should get both. Internet security is to prevent hackers from getting into your computer, protect your personal info (credit card numbers, bank accounts, etc) and should stop viruses from getting into your computer.
Anti-virus looks for and cleans your computer of viruses that have made it past your Internet security software.
Most decent packages should include both like a good antiperspirant/deodorant.

anti-virus software is part of a good internet security software. anti-virus software targets only one problem, viruses. internet security software will also go after malware, spyware, and help keep spam to a minimum. internet security software can also check out a page you are about to view and alert you to any potential problems

‘Internet Security’ software, also known as Internet Security Suite, is basic anti-virus software that includes extras.
Depending upon the vendor, these extras may include, anti-spyware, a firewall, anti-spam, a back-up utility, HIPS, parental software, ad-blocking, etc, etc, etc.
Everyones security needs vary…what ever floats YOUR boat is what you need to install.

With Internet security you get……

I was debating between just regular anti virus vs the net security.I choose the security at the end because I found that the features were better. It offered more protection.
