What is the best anti virus software to date?
I have heard of BitDefender, Viper, Norton, and Mccafee. I have BitDefender it crashes on me every once and a while. So does anyone have opinions on other anti virus software?
We’ve used Norton antivirus (by Symantec) with success for a number of years. We used a free program before that, but got a virus anyway – so switched to a pay program. It’s covered us well all this time and I use a Norton coupon http://www.discountspies.com/norton-coupons/ to help defray the cost.
Just my experience though

I go to Rochester Institute of Technology, work at Officemax, and do some online database work for some clients. All of the above use McAfee.

Norton is the best. It has lots of services such as Norton 360, Norton Add-On Pack, and Norton Internet Security 2010.

Well Norton Internet Security or Norton 360 are good choices cause of their interface but it’s not too good handling new malware samples. G Data is the best in europe with it’s superb malware detection but isn’t too good removing rootkit. Kaspersky’s malware detection is not that good and it has a high rate of false alarms with frustuerating user interface but is good with rootkit and new malware samples and very fast scan speeds. I say you get Norton.

hello
ok, there is a big misunderstanding about what is the best AV, because there is none.
having only an AV software on your system is not enough today.
every system is breakable it’s just matter of time for person or group of people to break it.
having Internet security kit is requirement. there are few effective.
1. Eyedigital Retina Scan
2. NOD32
3. G-data
4. Kaspersky Internet Security kit
5. Avira <there are 2 versions Free is personal and payable professional>
most of these internet Security kits do updates 2 times a day, automatically
additiong to the Internet Security kits use
1. Malwarebytes
2. A-squared
Plus Ccleaner which is free.
happy surfing
have a nice day
